- ✂️ Trim Only vs New Seat Units: For all seat products, we supply you with a handmade, model-specific seat trim. For some bike models, we are also able to supply an OEM-equivalent moulded seat base and foam, with our seat trim pre-installed. If ordering the former, you will need to remove your stock seat trim (see video guide below) and then install the Kelpi seat trim. If ordering the latter, you simply remove your existing seat and replace it with the Kelpi unit. If you don't see "New Seat Unit + Trim" as an option, we do not carry a seat base, and you will need to order the trim-only version to install yourself.
- 🍑 Comfort Level?: Trim-Only = ~10-15% improvement in comfort. New Seat Unit + Trim = ~15-25% improvement in comfort.
- 🌦️ Waterproof?: We use weather-resistant materials for all our seat trims. While the materials themselves are water resistant and will stand up to the elements, repeated or prolonged exposure to torrential rain or snow will likely result in water entering the seat through the stitching. We suggest keeping the seat dry wherever possible, and using a damp sponge or towel to spot clean the seat when required.

Please note that ALL our seats are hand-made-to-order here in Brisbane, Australia. A lead time of 2-4 weeks is our standard turnaround time on any order containing a seat product. You will be notified of your seat's completion before it is shipped to you. Please allow up to 30 days between placing a seat order and the order being shipped to your address.

The Vitpilen 401 is one of the sharpest-looking lightweight road bikes on the market, but its stock seat falls short in both comfort and styling. Our custom seat trim is designed to enhance long-distance rideability while complementing the bike’s minimalist aesthetics. Featuring a borderless diamond-stitched insert in premium black suedes and vinyl, this seat blends seamlessly with the OEM colour scheme while delivering a timeless classic styling that’s unmistakably custom.
Rider-Specific Comfort & Ergonomics
We believe that comfort should be tailored to the rider. Every Vitpilen 401 seat trim includes a 24mm foam inlay, with the density adjusted based on the rider’s weight to provide optimal support. The foam inserts are lycra-backed, ensuring flexibility across different densities while maintaining shape and durability.

Rather than replacing the entire seat unit, our seat trims allow you to retain your stock seat pan, eliminating unnecessary shipping fees, import duties, and manufacturing waste. This makes for an eco-friendly, cost-effective upgrade while providing a world-class finish that fits up perfectly to your bike and latch every time.
Fitment & Installation
Sold as a single piece seat cover replacement installation takes as little as 15 minutes and can be done yourself with an air-powered 6mm staple gun. For those less inclined to install themselves, local upholsterers can provide professional fitting for a small fee. We tend to love this option, as you’ll get perfect fitment whilst also getting an unbiased professional opinion on the quality of upholstery that we do. Since we started Kelpi, we’re yet to hear of any trimmer who hasn’t been impressed by our work.
