There’s no denying the new-gen XSR900 is a machine worthy of every indulgence. Universally praised for its performance and versatility, the new platform was met with mixed reactions when the factory seat was revealed. Whether you love or hate the design, we’ve got you covered.

For those not sold on the new silhouette, we’ve reshaped the stock unit to reflect the curvaceous styling of the ‘70s while keeping the visual edge of the XSR900 platform intact. Drawing inspiration from previous XSR generations and the Ducati Supersport, we’ve smoothed the seat profile, softened the tail, and made substantial comfort upgrades while retaining compatibility with panniers and most aftermarket tail racks.

Design & Craftsmanship

Each seat is handmade to order in our Brisbane workshop using premium automotive materials. Foam inserts are tailored to your height and weight, offering a made-to-measure experience from the ground up. Like all Kelpi seats, the reshaped XSR900 trims aren’t just about looks—they’re built for comfort on every ride.

Each seat is handcrafted using a collection of high end materials that we have chosen and sourced globally, creating a world class trail of provenance unseen amongst our competitors.

What’s Included

You can order this seat in two ways:

  • Existing Seat Update + Trim – Send us your seat, and we’ll reshape and retrim it in-house. Also available via seat exchange—please email for availability. Ideal for Australian clients.

  • New Seat + Trim – Includes a brand-new genuine Yamaha seat reshaped in our Kelpi signature profile. Best for international clients who’d prefer to keep riding while we build their seats. A Yamaha base adds $550 to the build.

Signature Designs

  • Oxley – Black vinyl with black suede diamond stitch insert and pale gold stitch

  • Macquarie – Black suede with charcoal suede diamond insert, finished with red accent stitching

  • Glorious – Full black suede with a ribbed insert and charcoal stitching

Installation & Customisation

We base the foam additions on your height and weight as part of the made-to-measure services we offer. Foam thickness and insert styling can be adjusted on request. Love it! Due to being in the US I went a new seat and trim. Seat was shipped in about two weeks and took another two weeks to get delivered. The Marquarie with the red stripe matched my 2022 Raven XSR perfectly. The stock seat was good for about an hour and truly painful after two. I put two tanks of fuel through the tank yesterday and was as comfortable after 5 hours in the saddle as the second I got on. Major improvement! The quality, comfort and style are top notch! Highly recommended!!

Bought this to ship to the Netherlands, took two weeks to build and around two weeks to ship, most of which was customs being a pain. Pretty standard overseas shipping experience I'd say. First, the seat looks absolutely stunning! It's even better looking in person and the Oxley style looks fantastic with the gold accents on my legend red bike. I always loved the 70s styling more, so this is a fantastic fit for me. The foam is SO much more comfortable to sit on and the leather is of very high quality. It's super soft to the touch yet strong at the same time, the stitching pattern looks amazing and it all just screams premium quality. The only thing that wasn't immediately great and took some getting used to was that the riding position is a lot more different than I anticipated. Especially since I'm tall and thus sit higher up on the seat, it caused me to sit a lot more forward with my upper body than the standard seat, leaning on my hands and sliding forward in the seat when braking. But after adjusting the suspension and learning to clamp my knees to the tank to keep myself in place when I start to decelerate, I'm now staying firmly in place when I'm braking and I also don't lean on my hands while riding anymore. That enabled me to ride for longer and completely dissolved the initial difficulties I had with it. Overall it's a gigantic improvement over the standard seat in terms of both comfort and looks, I highly recommend it!
