Low-profile design. Street-focused performance.
The 2022+ XSR900 marked a major evolution of Yamaha’s CP3 platform. A lighter Deltabox chassis, revised geometry, and premium electronics transformed it into a far sharper machine, while still carrying the unmistakable neo-retro DNA that defines the XSR name.
But despite the redesign, the factory exhaust remains large, visually (and physically) heavy, and muted in character.
The Kelpi Slipstream system has been developed to better suit the proportions and personality of the Gen 2 XSR900 (and XSR900 GP Edition).
With a tighter, "tucked under" configuration compared to our traditional CP3 layout, Slipstream sits further inboard under the bike, reducing visual bulk and giving the bike a cleaner, more resolved stance. At the same time, it unlocks the full voice of Yamaha’s triple.
The result is a crisper, more mechanical tone, stronger midrange urgency, improved throttle clarity, and a significant reduction in weight compared to the stock system.
It complements the XSR’s modern-retro styling without overpowering it.

Performance & Tuning
Slipstream is equipped with a high-flow catalytic converter and removable baffle insert, allowing you to maintain everyday rideability while improving overall output.
On a properly tuned setup, riders can expect:
• Gains of up to 10–12hp at the wheel
• Noticeably stronger midrange torque
• Cleaner, more predictable throttle transitions
• Quicker engine response under acceleration
For standard road use, the system operates safely on the factory ECU mapping when used with the supplied baffle.
If you plan to run intake modifications or remove the baffle for increased flow, we strongly recommend an ECU reflash or dyno calibration to maximise performance and maintain optimal fuelling.
We’ve worked closely with Kevin Hope to produce a CP3-specific calibration package developed through extensive dyno sessions and real-world testing. Get in touch if you’d like to add this to your build.
What Makes Slipstream Different
Compared to our conventional CP3 system, this configuration:
• Tucks further beneath the engine for a lower visual profile
• Removes the oversized OEM exhaust chamber
• Increases usable ground clearance
• Minimises exposed hardware
• Enhances the bike’s clean, muscular lines
On the Gen 2 XSR900, this creates a neater, more compact lower section that works with the bike’s sculpted tank and tail rather than competing with it.
Flanker Muffler – XSR900 Fitment
For the XSR900 Slipstream system, we pair it with our compact Flanker muffler.
• Carbon end-cap with stainless mesh detailing
• Deep, textured tone at low RPM
• Sharper triple note as revs rise
• Low-slung mounting position
• Noticeably sportier than stock while remaining comfortable for street riding
• Optional Quietcore insert available for additional sound reduction
• Also fits XSR900GP Edition with factory belly pan installed
The overall character is assertive without becoming excessive — ideal for riders who want performance presence without sacrificing everyday usability.
Gen 2 (2022+) XSR900 Specific Engineering
This system has been developed specifically for the 2022-onwards XSR900 platform (including XSR900GP Edition).
• Model-specific mounting hardware
• Optimised routing to suit the updated frame and swingarm geometry
• Designed around twin O2 sensor (Euro 5+) configuration
• Improved protection and reduced external exposure
Each kit includes:
Headers
Collector assembly
Link pipe
High-flow catalytic converter
Flanker muffler
Springs and mounting hardware
Removable baffle insert
O2 bung and block-off hardware
Euro 5+ Ready
Newer XSR900 models operate with dual O2 sensors under Euro 5+ regulations. Our Slipstream systems are supplied ready to accept both sensors.
For markets where a single sensor configuration may still apply, simply install the included blanking plug in the unused port.
If you are building a track-only setup and require a de-cat option, contact us directly to discuss available configurations.
Installation & Support
Installation can be completed in approximately 1–2 hours using standard workshop tools (HEX keys, sockets, and spanners).
